Smash is Coming to Australia

One of Foxtel’s brightest new international dramas for 2012 is Smash, the NBC musical drama featuring Debra Messing and American Idol‘s Katharine McPhee.

Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg it dramatises the staging of an American musical about the life of Marilyn Monroe.

The cast also has a coup in Angelica Huston playing a Broadway producer, with songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman from Hairspray also on board creatively.

Foxtel had originally promised the series to air same day / date as the US, but it will now premiere on February 21, two weeks after its US debut on February 6.
