Katharine McPhee carries her pet chihuahua as she arrives on the set of her new show Smash on Tuesday (March 13) in New York City.
The 27-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Debra Messing, Megan Hilty, Jack Davenport, Christian Borle, and Jaime Cepero.
Broadway vet Bernadette Peters is taking on the buzzed-about Broadway TV show “Smash.” In addition to appearing on the March 19 episode as Ivy’s (Megan Hilty) fabulous mother Leigh, the two-time Tony winner will return for the season finale.
Whether or not Karen (Katherine McPhee) will take the role of Marilyn by the time the show opens remains to be seen, but Peters will be attending regardless.
“I come to see my daughter, yes,” Peters told TV Guide, without disclosing any further details.
Take a listen to the full version of Katharine McPhee singing “Touch Me,” an original song featured on the eighth episode of Smash airing March 26.
I almost hated to run this question by Megan Hilty during a recent 1-on-1, but you must admit, her answer does intrigue: Will Ellis, that stealthy tattletale, ever cross into Ivy’s orbit? “We do end up having a very interesting relationship… and it’s very unexpected,” Hilty revealed. “You won’t see it coming, but when it happens… it’s one of those moments where I audibly gasped when I read it in the script!” What do you speculate, Smash fans – what sort of alliance, if any, might they form?
