    I thought it was a wonderful and artistic ending. Ivy got what was coming to her..Nothing.lmao!! Good trumps Evil :)

    I thought the finale was amazing tonight! It was full of treats and surprises.that kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. And when it was over I cried for the triumphant way Karen became a star in the face of so much adversity. It was a.brilliantly written show that was satisfying to the.viewer while still leaving enough of a.cliff-hanger to torture us with until next season.

    Really enjoyed the finale! Karen got the part, yay! It’s been a fun season, so keep it up, Smash people! More Karen and less Ellis in Season 2.

    Amazing! Love this show-so glad it is back for Season 2! I hope Ellis is gone for good-and really hope season 2 gets Karen and Derek hooked up into a real love affair. I think Derek would be an amazing character to explore and deepen by having him truly fall in lovevwith Karen! Dying for next season to start!

    Many understudies have gone on to make it big by replacing the star (Shirley MacLaine comes to mind).  I’m glad they let Karen play Marilyn and McPhee really delivered the goods!  Kudos to all the cast, except maybe Ellis!  Now let’s hope it gets to Broadway.

    I thought McPhee didn’t have the voice that Megan Hilty has AND the stage presence !  Megan Hilty carried the show the entire way and then at the end was written a bad hand.  She should of been given the part.  I think that would of been more realistic than someone who has never even been a broadway show with 7 million dollars on the line.  WHAT an insult to a magnificent talent like Megan Hilty vs an American Idol contestant !!  I won’t be watching if it really does return !!   Very disappointed !!

       This wasn’t about Megan and Katharine.  It was about Ivy and Karen.  You need to learn to separate the actors from the characters, unless you are simply an over the top Hilty fan. They are both very talented young ladies, and played their respective parts beautifully.

    Fabulous finale; McPhee was superb; the closeness between Karen and Derek was definitely moving forward in that last scene with what he whispers to her-that was enough to keep viewers longing for more. I was pleased to see the loose ends tied up-disappointed how Ellis ended-needed more of a bang; Jerry being there means he has something up his sleeve. Derek’s confession; Karen’s transformation was beautiful!

     The finale was amazing. It was a perfect way to cap off the season. When taking everything into account, it’s quite obvious that they made the right decision in choosing Karen. Before the finale, we knew she was a better singer and a better dancer than Ivy, but now we know she is a better performer. She knocked it out of the park with that final performance. I have to hand it to the actress who plays her – Katherine Mcphee. She was phenomenal.

    I LOVE Smash and can’t wait for Season 2. It was only a fluke that I knew about the show in time to watch the first episode. I never watch NBC at night. I just happened to catch a commercial about the upcoming Smash premier. It tweaked my interest enough that I wrote down the date, time, and channel that it would be broadcast on. I was in love with the show before the first commercial.

    I liked both Ivy and Karen. I had to watch the second show to see which one of them got the part. It has been an emotional roller coaster ever since… a terrific ride that I did not want to see end.

    Derek is the perfect dark character… I’d hate him and then, despite myself, I’d fall for him. Made a perfect Monday night… Dancing with the stars, and then Smash!

    I am done.  So stupid that the part was given to someone too skinny too and too young and too unexperienced to play the part.  Typical.  I will not be watching next year.

    I disagree – they both have amazing voices but glad Katherine got it.  Her voice is great.  Her song at the end was delivered beautifully – Ivy couldn’t deliver it with innocence and warmth.  All she was interested in was “sex appeal”.  Hopefully everyone will find out what Ivy did – karma is a bitch; it came back on her.  She deliberately did that to get the part and it backfired.  The point was “Karen” is a better person than “IVy” – she decided to sleep with Derek probably to get the part; did devious things and it all came back on her. Also glad Ellis got fired and hopefully will get in trouble for what he did to Rebecca (although glad she’s gone)

    This has been a fun series! I have never seen anything like it. It is interesting to see the process. As one not remotely near the business I don’t know how realistic it is. But I love it just the same.

     I like how Karen has held her ground with Derek. I hope she can stay true to herself in that department. It will make her stronger! We have seen how “flexible” Derek is.

    I have heard that Ellis is not returning in Season 2. I loved to hate him. I think he needed to be tortured a little more for all the trouble he caused.

    I am glad the part went to Karen. Ivy was too much of a manipulator. Always trying to get a leg up no matter the cost. I really thought it was going to turn out that she put the peanuts in Rebecca’s smoothie! Ivy is also a dynamic singer, so it will be interesting to see what is in store for Season 2!

    Looking forward!! Keep it going NBC!!!
